I have had this for a few weeks now so I can give a full review that I hope helps people. I chose this product as I knew I'd never fill a full-sized dishwasher and didn't want to engage a plumber. I was able to lift it myself and it was easy to set up in my kitchen. I figured out the set up from the instruction manual in about 15 mins.
The manual water reservoir has a clever no-spill design. It's at the bottom of the machine on an angle and the opening tray has rivets to spread the water. It's just like filling a kettle. However, I have a small kitchen and didn't like the noise either so I moved the dishwasher into the laundry on top of the dryer.
I then realised I could easily attach the hose (that comes with it) to the laundry tap as the connection is the same as a washing machine. I bought a 'y' splitter for under $10 from the local hardware and used a bit of plumber's tape and the dishwasher/washing machine both run out of the cold tap. I then put the drain hose into the laundry tub (though I could fix it under the laundry tub but like the hose visible so I can clean it when I need to). I don't have to manually fill it now. There is a little suction cup to attach the drain hose to fix to the side of the sink. I don't think I need the base of the dishwasher now since I have plumbed it in so that might be useful info for those who need a smaller height to fit under kitchen cabinets (i.e. if you plumb in in, you can remove the base).
BTW I couldn't figure out how to connect the water to run from my particular kitchen tap (maybe a diverter needed), but the manual fill is absolutely fine and all you need. Just put the drain hose in your kitchen sink. Also, you only need a cold tap connection. The dishwasher heats everything after a few minutes.
I have never owned a dishwasher before and it has improved my quality of life. I loathe washing up and always avoided doing it. Now I don't even think about it. Just put my dirty stuff straight in the dishwasher. I cut a tablet in half (those metal scissors to cut lobster etc.) and place the tablet in the bottom of the dishwasher (there is no special slot or rinse aid slot). Great results as long as I don't stack too much in. The product description says to only use dinner plates up to 25cm. Mine were larger than this, so I found some 25cm dinner plates in ALDI. I also bought a small saucepan with handles (pasta saucepan) that fits in there too.
If you are single or a couple and a renter and dislike hand washing, this is the solution for you. No plumber needed and you can set it up in 15 mins. You don't have to bend down to load/unload and it's it's portable. You could take it on holidays or keep it on a trolley and drain it into a bucket. A normal-sized dishwasher would not have suited me or my living space. I am the target market for this product and the cleaning results have been great.
I run this every 1-2 days and all results have been clean (except when I overfill). Now I have a cleaner kitchen and more mental energy for other stuff. It's a pretty white design and it's fun to watch it do your housework through the window and it dries the dishes too if you choose to leave the 'fan' running. I almost bought one of these 5 years ago but there were a lack of reviews. Am kicking myself that I didn't.
Tip: If you use the manual fill method, turn the dishwasher on before you start filling. It will beep when full. Takes about 3 jugs full.
